Sirum started painting graffiti in and around Melbourne’s train corridors in the mid nineties at the age of 16. However, his interest within the art form and his general love for letters and typography came about many years before.
“I was always that kid at school that everyone would ask to do their project headings for them. Or having the chalk duster thrown at me for constantly doodling in the back of my text book by the teacher…”
With a razor sharp eye for design aesthetics, colour and placement together with being inspired by movements such as Pop art and Art Nuevo as well as his love for comic book illustration, led Sirum to the bold and graphic stylized approach that his works embrace to this day.
After the last number of years travelling through Europe and the States his work has become internationally renown and together he has collaborated with some of the best graffiti writers from around world.
Back home in Australia Sirum is sponsored by paint giant Ironlak. Between working on Ironlak team walls or personally commissioned or commercial projects through his business Komplex Graphix he finds himself more often then not flying from state to state for his work.
He is highly regarded as one of Australia’s leading graffiti writers and this is easily reflected through the shear amount of energy that radiates from within his style.
